Scottish Junior Grounds

Some of the best and most traditional football grounds in Britain are to be found in Glasgow. Every summer I am fortunate in being able to spend a week in Scotland with a party of students from the school where I teach. Over the years I have found a number of very good reasons for being the right person to be last away from Glasgow, first one back to Glasgow, the one to drive to and from Glasgow... and one day last summer I just said that I was going to leave the group and go to Glasgow for the day! Whatever image people have of Glasweigans I can say that I have always found those at grounds to be as welcoming and hospitable as they could possibly be.

Arthurlie FC ...once a Scottish League ground, has a very odd end terrace...
Benburb FC ...huge! Noted for a superb covered terrace..
Blantyre Victoria FC ..a fine old ground with plenty of cover..
Kilsyth Rangers FC ... a true arena, curved ends and a great pitch-long cover...
Kirkintilloch Rob Roy FC ...a large oval ground with plenty of terracing..
Petershill FC ...an enormous ground, also the Grounds Frenzy logo...
Pollock FC ...arguably Junior football's best ground...
Vale of Leven FC ...locked and bolted - brilliant barrel roof covers...
Yoker FC ...my favourite - well worth a three hour drive...
